Eligibility Criteria
Age (As on 01-01-2025)::
  • Minimum:    18 years
  • Maximum:   33 years (Undergraduate Level) / 36 years (Graduate Level)
  • i.e. A candidate must have been born not earlier than DD-MM-YYYY and not later than DD-MM-YYYY (both dates inclusive)

    Candidates who are working in Quasi-Administrative offices of the Railway organization such as Railway Canteens, Cooperative Societies and Institutes Up to the length of service rendered or 5 years, whichever is less
    Women candidates, who are widowed, divorced or judicially separated from husband but not remarried UR & EWS- 35 years
    OBC (NCL)- 38 years
    SC/ST- 40 years

    Typing proficiency in English/Hindi on the computer is necessary.
    Senior Clerk Cum Typist Degree from a recognized university or its equivalent.
    Typing proficiency in English/Hindi on the computer is necessary.

Medical Standards:

  • Post NameNTPC Eye Criteria
    Chief Commerical Cum Ticket Supervisor Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (lens power not to exceed 4D). Near vision: Sn = 0.6, with or without glasses for reading or close work. Must pass a field of vision (binocular vision) test, among other things.
    Station Master Distance vision is 6/9 with or without glasses (no fogging test), whereas near vision is Sn = 0.6 with or without glasses. Must pass the color vision, binocular vision, night vision, and myopic vision tests.
    Goods Train Manager Distance vision is 6/9 with or without glasses (no fogging test), whereas near vision is Sn = 0.6 with or without glasses. Must pass the color vision, binocular vision, night vision, and myopic vision tests.
    Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist Distance Vision: 6/12, 6/18 (with or without glasses) Near Vision: Sn: 0.6 with or without glasses for reading or close work.
    Senior Clerk Cum Typist Distance Vision: 6/12, 6/18 (with or without glasses) Near Vision: Sn: 0.6 with or without glasses for reading or close work.

Nationality/ Citizenship:
  • A candidate must be -
    • a Citizen of India
      OR
    • a subject of Nepal
      OR
    • a subject of Bhutan
      OR
    • a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently setting in India
      OR
    • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
