Eligibility Criteria
Age (As on 01-07-2024)::
  • Minimum:    18 years
  • Maximum:   28 years
  • i.e. A candidate must have been born not earlier than 2-07-1996 and not later than 1-07-2006 (both dates inclusive)

  • Relaxation of Upper age limi:

    • a Citizen of India

      OR
    • a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently setting in India
      OR
    • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Number of Attempts:
  • There is no official notification regarding the number of attempts. However, there is an age limit and other criteria the candidates need to meet in order to attend the exam. If the candidates meet the required criteria they can attempt the UP Police Constable recruitment 2024 any number of times.
Physical Eligibility:
  • Apart from meeting the age and education requirements, candidates must also fulfill certain physical standards requirements to be eligible for the Police Constable post. The UPP Constable physical eligibility will be ascertained in two parts – Physical Measurements Test and Physical Efficiency Test. Let us go through the details of each of these physical eligibility tests below –

    UP Police Constable Physical Measurements Test (PMT)
    • The Physical Measurements Test (PMT) is conducted to ensure that the candidates’ are physically fit and suitable for performing the rigorous duties of a Police Constable in the UP Police Force, below are the details of the UP Police Constable PMT –

     Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
      • This is another physical test to be undertaken by candidates to ensure their eligibility for UP Police Constable. In this, the candidate’s physical efficiency is tested through Running as specified below –

Medical Test:
  • After clearing the physical tests, candidates will be required to appear for the UP Police Constable Medical Test to ensure that they are medically sound for being appointed as a Police Constable.Below are the details of the Medical Test –
    Medical Test Parameter Description
    Detailed Medical Examination (DME) Height and Weight Measurement The first step is to measure height and weight. Minimum height for male is 168 cm and 152 cm for females. Minimum weight for male is 50 kg and 40 kg for females.
    Chest Measurement Chest measurement is only for male. Minimum chest should be 79cm without expansion and 84cm with expansion. Minimum expansion should be 5cm.
    Hearing Test Used to check hearing ability. Candidates should not have any hearing impairment.
    Dental Test Used to check dental health. Candidates should have healthy teeth and gums.
    Medical Examination Thorough examination of heart, lungs, abdomen and other vital organs. Candidate should not have any medical condition.
    Review Medical Examination (RME) Re-evaluation of Medical Condition Medical board re-evaluates the medical condition of candidates declared temporarily unfit in DME.
    Fitness Assessment Done to check if the candidate is physically and mentally fit for the duties of police constable.
    Final Decision Final decision on fitness taken by the medical board. Candidate declared fit if meeting all criteria.
