Age Limit
For candidates applying for the post of teacher for Classes I-V (Primary Stage), the minimum age limit is 18 years, and there is no upper age limit.
For candidates applying for the post of teacher for Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage), the minimum age limit is 18 years, and there is no upper age limit.
There is no age restriction to apply for the CTET exam.
Eligibility 2024 For Paper-I
The candidates who wish to teach students from Classes 1 to 5 must appear for the CTET Paper I. Here is the complete CTET Eligibility 2024 for Paper I.
Candidates must have cleared or still pursuing the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (with a minimum of 50% marks) from a recognized University/Institution.
OR
Applicants must have cleared or still pursuing the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (with a minimum of 45% marks) in accordance with the NCTE, Regulations, 2002.
OR
Aspirants must have cleared or still pursuing the final year of 4 years of a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) from a recognized University/Institution (with at least 50% marks).
OR
Candidates must have cleared or still pursuing the final year of 2 years Diploma in Special Education(with at least 50% marks) from a recognized University/Institution.
OR
Candidates must have cleared the Graduation (with at least 50% marks) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from a recognized University/Institution.
OR
Eligibility 2024 For Paper-II
The candidates who wish to teach students from Class 6 to 8 must appear for the CTET Paper II. Here is the complete CTET Eligibility 2024 for Paper II.
Candidates must have cleared the Graduation and also must have cleared or still pursuing the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education from a recognized University/Institution.
OR
Candidates must have cleared the Graduation (with minimum 50% marks) and passed or appeared in the first year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) from a recognized University/Institution.
OR
Candidates must have cleared the Graduation (with a minimum of 45% marks) and passed or appeared in 1 year of bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE Regulations in Education (B.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and Candidates must have cleared the Graduation of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and Candidates must have cleared the Graduation of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and Candidates must have cleared or appeared in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
OR
Candidates must have cleared the Graduation in B.Ed. Programs recognized by the NCTE are eligible to appear in TET/CTET.
OR
CTET Eligibility For SC/ST/OBC
There is no provision for seat reservations for reserved category (SC/ ST/ OBC and PwD candidates)candidates. However, they are granted a relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying exam of the CTET Exam.
CTET Reservation Criteria
For the General category, Candidates who score 60% marks in the examination will be considered qualified. There will be a 5% relaxation of the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational Qualification for you if you belong to SC/ST/OBC/Person with Disabilities category.
A good thing for all the appearing candidates is that there is no negative marking for a wrong attempted question.
Nationality/ Citizenship:
A candidate must be -
a Citizen of India
OR
a subject of Nepal
OR
a subject of Bhutan
OR
a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently setting in India
OR
a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
CTET Eligibility: Number of Attempts
There is no restriction on the number of attempts as per the CTET official notification of the previous year. A candidate who has qualified CTET can also appear again to improve his/her score.
CTET Eligibility Criteria: Experience--
No prior experience is required for the candidates to appear for this CTET recruitment 2024. Freshers as well as experienced candidates who fulfill other CTET Qualification criteria are eligible to apply for this examination.
CTET Eligibility Key Points 2024--
Before applying for CBSE CTET exam eligibility 2024, candidates should keep the following aspects in mind:
NCTE must recognize the candidate's degree or diploma.
Only programs accredited by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) will be accepted for candidates holding a Diploma or Degree in Special Education.
Candidates with a D.Ed (Special Education) must complete a 6-month NCTE-approved Special Programme in Elementary Education.
The above-mentioned minimal CTET educational credentials apply to instructors of Languages, Social Studies/Social Science, Mathematics, Science, and so on.
Physical Education instructors must adhere to the standards outlined in NCTE rules.
In the case of Art Education, Home Science, Work Education, and Craft Education teachers, Norms established by state governments and other school administrations, for example, will apply.
It is the duty of the candidates to determine whether or not they meet the eligibility conditions for applying.
It should be emphasized that acceptance to take the test does not guarantee the candidates' eligibility. Before the appointment, the authorities will conduct a final verification.
