Pattern
  • CTET exam pattern explains paper pattern, marking scheme, exam duration, and other important information. Candidates can analyze the exam patterns for paper 1 and paper 2 to devise a nice study plan for the preparation. CTET exam pattern is released for the Primary level and Upper Primary level.
  • Candidates who have applied for the upcoming exam must check the complete CTET Exam Pattern to prepare well and outrank the competitors. Candidates preparing for the Primary level exam should refer to the CTET Paper 1 exam pattern, while those preparing for the Upper Primary level exam should refer to the CTET Paper 2 exam pattern.
CTET Exam Pattern - Paper I
  • CTET Paper-I exam is divided into 5 sections. The total number of questions and marks distributions for Paper-1 is given below:

CTET Exam Pattern - Paper II
  • CTET paper 2 exam pattern includes details on the number of questions asked in each section like CDP, Language 1, Language 2, and Science & Mathematics or Social Science. Paper 2 consists of 150 questions for a total of 150 marks. CTET exam pattern for paper 2 is mentioned in the table given below.

CTET Marking Scheme
  • Along with the exam pattern, understanding the CTET Marking Scheme for the upcoming exam is also critical. The marking scheme for the CTET Exam comprises the distribution of marks for correct and incorrect answers. Candidates will be awarded one mark for each correct answer whereas no marks will be deducted for an incorrect answer or unattempted question.
    • The total marks for Paper 1 and Paper 2 is 150 each.
    • There is no negative marking in the examination.
Nature and Standard of CTET 2024 Questions
  • It is equally important to understand the nature and standard of questions, along with the CTET Exam Pattern 2024. Candidates should be familiar with the nature of questions to perform well in the upcoming exam. Practice CTET Previous Year Question Papers to understand the nature of questions asked in the exam. The important information about nature and the standard of questions is mentioned below:

    • Child Development and Pedagogy questions will focus on the educational psychology of teaching and learning. It will be relevant to children of 6 to 11 years. They will concentrate on learning the characters and requirements of various learners.
    • The questions in Language I will be related to the medium of education, communication with learners, and the characteristics and features of a good facilitator of learning.
    • The questions in Language II will direct at the elements of language, conversation, and comprehension skills.
    • Language II and Language I cannot be the same. A candidate may choose any language as Language I and another as Language II from the available language options and will be required to define the same on the confirmation page.
    • CTET Pattern of Paper 1 covers the topics from the NCERT for classes 1st to 5th, but their difficulty level and linkages can go up to the Secondary stage.
