Eligibility

Age (As on Update Soon):
  Minimum: 18 years Maximum: 35 years
  i.e. A candidate must have been born not earlier than DD.MM.YYYY and not later than DD.MM.YYYY (both dates inclusive)

  Relaxation of Upper age limit:

Educational Qualifications:
    The UPTET minimum qualification states that a candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree with an aggregate of at least 50% marks from any recognised University/ Institute. However, candidates with D.El.Ed from N.I.O.S. is not eligible for this exam
  1. Bachelor degree/master degree with 50% marks and B.Ed / B.Ed special exam Passed OR
  2. Bachelor degree/master degree with BTC Training 2 year exam passed OR
  3. 12th/ Intermediate exam with 50% marks and B.LEd 4 year course
  4. 10+2 /Intermediate exam with 50% marks and B.SC Ed exam passed OR
  5. Any other equivalent education qualification


Experience
  No prior experience required.

Nationality / Citizenship:
  A candidate must be either -   
  • a Citizen of India or
  • a subject of Nepal or
  • a subject of Bhutan or
  • a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India
    or
  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Pattern

 UPTET exam pattern 2022 is prescribed by the Exam Regulatory Authority, Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is conducted for two papers – Paper 1 and 2. Candidates need to appear for Paper 1 if they plan to teach Classes 1-5. On the other hand, candidates need to appear for Paper 2 if they plan to teach Classes 6-8. The exam pattern differs for both papers in terms of the number of subjects and the total number of questions.
UPTET Exam Pattern 2022 for Paper 1
 The UPTET Paper 1 exam pattern is divided into five sections. Each section contains 30 MCQs of 30 marks. The total duration of the exam is two hours thirty minutes. Candidates need to attempt the paper in offline mode on the OMR sheet. Have a look at the pattern below.

Have a look at a few important points on nature and level of questions asked in Paper 1 below:
  • Questions in the Child Development and Pedagogy section focus on the educational psychology and teaching methods for students belonging to the age group of 6-11 years
  • Language-II is a separate language from language-I. Candidates can choose any one language out of the available options (English/Urdu/Sanskrit) as Language-II at the time of filing the UPTET application form. Questions in language-II focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
  • Questions in Mathematics and Environmental Studies focus on the concepts of these subjects, problem-solving abilities and understanding of teaching methods. Questions in these subject areas are distributed equally in the different sections of the syllabus of that subject.
  • The questions in Paper 1 are based on the topics prescribed in the Basic Education Council syllabus for Classes 1 to 5, but their difficulty level is of intermediate level

UPTET Exam Pattern 2022 for Paper 1
 UPTET Paper 2 exam pattern is divided into four sections. The first three sections contain 30 questions each and the fourth section contains 60 questions. In the fourth section, candidates have the choice to appear for either Mathematics and Science or Social Studies subject. Candidates need to complete the exam in a duration of two hours thirty minutes. The exam is conducted as a pen-paper based test.

  • In Child Development & Pedagogy section, questions are based on child development and teaching methods relevant to the age group of 11-14 years
